Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
Location: Loughborough area (LE12)
Salary: £100 - £105 per day
Contract: Long term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (Term time only)
Start Date: January 2026
About the Role
We are supporting a specialist all-through SEMH provision in the Shepshed area that works with pupils aged 5 to 16. The school offers a calm, structured and nurturing environment where pupils receive personalised support to help them settle, feel secure and make progress both emotionally and academically.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping young people build confidence, manage their emotions and engage positively in school life. This is a rewarding full-time role with excellent support from experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional resilience and self-regulation
Support pupils with routines, transitions and engagement in lessons
Assist teachers in delivering a flexible, individualised curriculum
Communicate effectively with staff to help monitor progress and adapt support
Who We're Looking For
Experience supporting young people, particularly in SEMH, SEN, youth work or care
Confident, patient and calm when working with pupils who may struggle to regulate their emotions
Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
Applicants with sports, outdoor activity or mentoring backgrounds are very welcome
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
