AWS Security Engineer – Contract Role
Location: Remote (UK-based candidates only)
Start Date: ASAP
Day Rate: £400 per day, outside IR35
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced AWS Security Engineer to join on a contract basis and take ownership of securing our client’s AWS estate. This role requires a hands-on professional who can confidently assess vulnerabilities, validate configurations, and ensure the integrity of AWS systems supporting large-scale telecommunications and SaaS operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments across the AWS environment and identify areas of risk.
* Validate and review AWS configurations to ensure best-practice security compliance.
* Manage and monitor AWS security posture, ensuring continuous improvement in vulnerability management.
* Work closely with telecommunications and SaaS teams to secure call routing infrastructure between multiple contact centres.
* Test automated call handling systems, routing trees, and line quality to ensure reliable communication performance.
* Collaborate with providers such as Zoom and other telephony partners to ensure secure and efficient call operations.
* Implement and utilise monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog) for log management, alerting, and performance testing.
* Ensure SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and related telephony configurations are secure and functioning correctly.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in AWS Security Engineering and vulnerability management.
* Strong background in AWS networking and telephony / contact centre integrations.
* Hands-on experience with SIP, VoIP routing, and automated call handling systems.
* Experience working with Datadog or similar tools for monitoring and alert management.
* Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure for large-scale call environments.
* Confident communicator, able to collaborate with technical and business teams effectively.
Bonus Skills
* Previous experience securing SaaS platforms and telecommunications services.
* Knowledge of Zoom Phone, Twilio, or similar platforms.
