Banking Assistant 4M FTC - West Midlands
Purpose of the role:
Perform weekly cash and card reconciliations with turnover of £1bn+ across the managed pubs ensuring that risk is identified and escalated when necessary. Liaising with the operators and audit team to resolve differences identified when reconciling sites weekly cash declarations to the bank receipts and providing weekly reporting with clear actions, this would also include missing or late banking's from sites. Organising secure collections and deliveries of coin/notes to the sites, dealing with related queries quickly and effectively. Working with banks and external service providers to ensure that SLA’s are delivered, and that risk is minimised.
Duties and responsibilities:
Download bank statement from a central portal Perform weekly bank statement and card reconciliations Communication with sites to identify late or missing banking's Manage the open items report, identifying risks and escalating as required Working daily with the banks and cash collection providers Responsible for telephone & email site queries to resolution Assisting with the banking arrangement of new pub openings and closures Raising and posting corrective and period-end journals Assist with customer refund processing Identify cash discrepancies, escalating where appropriate and highlighting training to support remediation Deliver training to sites on banking team processes Manage the Zonal Helpdesk queries that relate to banking Arranging courier collections & reporting of any issues in a timely manner
Skills, experience and qualifications:
Thorough and accurate with a high level of attention to detail Strong reconciliation abilities. Ability to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines and prioritise work A positive approach and drive to deliver excellent customer service Excellent written and verbal communications Numerate with an inquisitive mind ensuring queries are taken to resolution Understanding of banking practices, processes and general systems Experience of working in a banking/treasury team Reconciliation of high-volume transactions Microsoft Office Capability (Excel Intermediate) Business Central (Navision)
