NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER, MANSFIELD, PERMANENT, 18.5HRS, GRADE 3N - £25,141, FTE Sherwood Street Centre is a 24-hour Homeless Hostel providing safe and supportive accommodation for individuals experiencing Homelessness. At the service we have 15 units of core accommodation for up to 16 individuals with complex needs, and 62 units of dispersed housing in the community. We offer tailored support to help people move towards independent living. As a Night Support Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security and well-being of the residents during the night hours. You will be expected to provide practical support and understand the issues faced by people affected by homelessness, including housing support; substance use, mental health and use a trauma informed care approach. You will manage any incidents that arise and respond appropriately to emergencies. Shift Pattern is 9:15pm- 08:15am 2 Rota Shifts per week Duties and responsibilities Contribute to the safe and effective running of the site at all times, responding to incidents, tensions, welfare concerns and staffing problems that arise, supporting colleagues and people using the service with calmness, respect and professionalism. Act as Shift Lead. Deliver support in line with the aims of the service including: 1:1 support to address immediate needs, access services, and engage in independent living tasks Group activities that promote social inclusion, develop independent living skills, reduce isolation and support meaningful activity. Manage risk using safety plans and de-escalation techniques appropriate to the situation. Work with other agencies to ensure that people using the service receive the holistic services that support their independence and/or recovery. Share information in line with agreed protocols and regulations. Maintain accurate and concise records of all activities in a timely manner. Why Join Us?
