PPM Engineer Days Location: Ruskington Site Hours: 12-hour shifts, days-based, 3 & 2 rotating pattern We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Multiskilled Engineer to join our Engineering team, focusing on planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reliability improvement, and ensuring the safe and efficient running of site equipment. This role works closely with Production, Planning, Hygiene, and Reliability teams to maximise machine availability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement across the site. Key Responsibilities Planned & Preventative Maintenance Deliver effective PPM across designated machinery and site assets. Complete scheduled maintenance tasks to the required standards. Identify opportunities to improve PPM performance and equipment reliability. Breakdown Response & Repairs Respond swiftly to engineering breakdowns to reduce production impact. Repair and restore machinery safely and efficiently. Provide detailed breakdown analysis, repair actions, and follow-up recommendations. Reporting & Documentation Accurately complete reports, job sheets, and maintenance logs. Ensure all work is captured within the CMMS. Escalate repetitive issues, risks, or reliability concerns. Root Cause Analysis Conduct RCA using tools such as 5 Why and fault-tree analysis. Support continuous improvement by identifying corrective and preventative actions. Present findings to Engineering and Reliability teams when required. Parts & Material Management Manage spare parts for day shift engineering responsibilities. Raise requisitions for required materials. Ensure correct booking-out of parts for accurate stock and cost control. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the Reliability Supervisor on asset care and engineering improvements. Communicate effectively with Production, Planning, and Hygiene teams. Participate in daily meetings to provide engineering updates. Hygiene & Compliance Support hygiene shutdowns, including preparing and reinstating machinery. Ensure all engineering activities meet safety and food safety requirements. Follow permit-to-work and safe systems of work at all times. Skills, Qualifications & Experience Essential Strong electrical and mechanical multiskilled competence. Experience within manufacturing or processing environments. Solid understanding of PPM systems and engineering reporting. Ability to carry out RCA and 5 Why investigations. Confident communication skills across departments. Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload. Desirable Level 3 Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical). 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (if electrically biased). Experience using CMMS systems. Knowledge of food industry standards (HACCP, hygiene, audits)
