The Opportunity
As Engineering Team Leader, you’ll lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, efficient maintenance, and a safe working environment across your area. You’ll take ownership of team development, KPIs, crisis management, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day engineering activity and resource planning
* Lead and develop a skilled engineering team with regular 1:1s and reviews
* Ensure health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and permit‑to‑work controls
* Support root cause analysis (RCA) and reduce downtime through robust problem solving
* Maintain site readiness for internal/external audits and engineering compliance
The Ideal Candidate
* HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 / BTEC / City & Guilds in mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering
* Proven experience in engineering leadership within FMCG, ideally food manufacturing
* Strong people management, coaching, and problem‑solving skills
* Knowledge of CMMS systems, 18th Edition Wiring Regs, and health & safety best practice
* Experience managing audits, crisis incidents, and continuous improvement projects
