About the Opportunity

You

Stepping into your future - ready to learn, grow, and do meaningful work that matters.

At IVC Evidensia, you’ll find a place where you can be yourself, supported by people who want to see you thrive. You’ll get hands‑on experience, build your confidence, and discover just how far your passion can take you.

Unlock Your Passions at St George's Vets:

St George's Vets has been part of the IVCE Graduate Academy Scheme since 2016. The job would be split between the hospital and branches, initially being based at GP branches to allow for more support. We would pair you with one of our vets to allow one to one training. We have a well‑practiced training programme of supporting surgery and consulting skills in our GP branches, whilst having access to scrubbing in for more advanced surgeries, ultrasound training, dentistry training and help with management of more complex medical cases at our hospital.

We are located in an affordable, urban environment, whilst having regular rail and tram links to Birmingham with the Mailbox and Bullring shopping centres and multiple theatres. There are regular train links to Birmingham airport close by. The Shropshire Hills and Wales just a short drive away.

We are a friendly and supportive team of 13 Vets and 22 Nurses with certificate holders in Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery, Medicine and 1 CertAVP. We have a very strong learning and development culture at St George’s making it the ideal place for a new graduate.

We are a hospital practice with 8 branch practices, which are a mix of GP and sole charge clinics. At the hospital, facilities include endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, laparoscopic surgery, separate dental room with x‑ray, 2 operating theatres, full lab equipment, large kennels and isolation facilities. The branches also have a wide range of excellent facilities including microscopy, 3 with dental x‑ray, one laparoscopic surgery. The larger branches have ultrasound and lab facilities. We are passionate about client care, maintaining high standards of clinical care and learning and development of the team.

Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

You will work 40 hours per week which will be split over 4 days per week with the same weekday off each week. Hours will be 8.30am‑7pm or 9am‑7pm depending on hospital/branch. You will also be required to work 1 in 5 Saturdays 8.45am‑4.30pm.

We have a long history of supporting Graduate Academy Vets. Since 2016 we have supported 12 Graduate Academy Vets. Half of those vets are working for us now, some in senior vet roles and training the current Graduate Academy vets. We have 5 vets with VetGDP training. We have a well‑practiced training programme of supporting surgery and consulting skills in our GP branches, whilst having access to scrubbing in for more advanced surgeries, ultrasound training, dentistry training and help with management of more complex medical cases at our hospital.
