Principal Waste Water Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in every aspect of process engineering on transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad. The role is based in our Bristol office. We specialise in all aspects of process engineering within the water industry, including waste‑water and bioresources treatment, in the UK and internationally, with opportunities in other sectors such as nuclear. The work spans the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to process commissioning, adding value through client‑side support. Your purpose: Lead a team to undertake technical design work, following relevant design standards and codes, to high‑quality levels.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high‑quality levels.
* Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
* Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
* Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
* Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
Qualifications
* Chartered Chemical / Process Engineer (preferably IChemE or CIWEM).
* Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
* Fundamental understanding and experience of integrated waste‑water and bioresources treatment process.
* Design and/or operational experience of main process unit operations: primary / secondary / tertiary treatment, bioresource treatment and disposal, odour and energy management.
* Experience of process safety techniques (HAZOP / DSEAR), capital and operational cost assessments, whole‑life carbon assessments and knowledge of UK environmental regulations.
* Awareness of process modelling techniques and software, e. g. BioWIn, SUMO.
