We are seeking a
Child & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist
to join our Tier 4 inpatient service at
Chalkhill
, one of the country's leading hospitals for children and young people with serious mental health needs and eating disorders.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to young people aged 13–18, while working within a highly skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team.
Recruitment & Retention Package
This post attracts an additional
£45,000 payment
over 3 years:
* £15,000 on appointment
* £10,000 after 12 months' service
* £10,000 after 24 months' service
* £10,000 after 36 months' service
* (pro rata for part-time roles)
What you'll be doing
* Providing
clinical leadership and psychiatric care
for young people admitted to the inpatient unit
* Working closely with families, carers and community teams to support recovery and safe transitions
* Leading on
formulation, care planning and risk management
* Teaching, supervising and supporting medical students, trainees and wider MDT colleagues
* Contributing to
service development and transformation
, including the development of neighbourhood mental health teams
What we're looking for
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Full GMC registration with licence to practise
On GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of achieving CCT)
Approved Clinician status (or ability to achieve within 3 months)
Excellent knowledge and clinical skills in child & adolescent psychiatry
Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills
