We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join Customer and Digital Services as a Transactions Officer. The role is within our Assessment and Finance Team.

The successful candidate will be involved in processing a wide range of Welfare Benefits that are administered by City of Edinburgh Council on behalf of the Department for Works and Pensions, Scottish Government, and Social Security Scotland.
Responsibilities
* Process a wide range of Welfare Benefits including Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payment, Free School Meals, Clothing Grants, and Education Maintenance Allowance.
* Apply complex legislation to ensure accurate and compliant processing.
* Maintain detailed and accurate records for each case.
Qualifications
* Methodical and detail‑oriented approach.
* Good knowledge of Welfare Benefits and related legislation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Positive attitude and ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Pre‑employment checks
Applicants are subject to a Basic Disclosure check. Individuals who have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check. Unconditional offers will be contingent on satisfactory completion of these checks.
