Location: Neath Civic Centre, Water Street, Neath, SA11 3QZ
Your workstyle will be a mobile hybrid worker in this role which gives you the flexibility to work from home and from a variety of Council workplaces. It Is a requirement to work from Neath Civic Centre a minimum of one day per week with availability from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to join the Direct Payments Support Service (DPSS). This is a key administrative role within Social Services, supporting individuals who receive Direct Payments to manage their care and support arrangements effectively, while delivering a high-quality, flexible business support service in partnership with social workers, service users, payroll providers and internal teams. You will play an integral part in the day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring accurate record keeping, responding to enquiries and correspondence, supporting meetings, managing data and reports, and maintaining efficient systems and processes.
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
You will:
1. Have experience in an administrative or office-based role, ideally working with a wide range of people
2. Be confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
3. Have a good understanding of following policies, procedures and maintaining accurate records
4. Be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and build positive working relationships
5. Be able to prioritise your workload, manage your time effectively and meet deadlines
6. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
You must also:
7. Hold a minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
8. Hold, or be willing to work towards, an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent qualification)
