Age Concern Hampshire are looking for home helpers in Locksheath and surrounding areas with experience in cleaning or even care work.

What is the Help at Home Service?
This self-employed position of Home Helper is very rewarding and flexible. Our Home Helpers choose which clients to take on and once allocated, they visit the same clients regularly, so they get to know them. This is a part time role with flexible hours. Visits are booked for a minimum of one hour.
Our Home Helpers support our clients (aged 50+) with general cleaning, laundry and ironing, bed linen change, shopping, helping to cook a light meal or snack, prescription collection and companionship. This role is Monday-Friday and there is no requirement to work in the evenings and during weekends. Personal care and moving and handling are not part of the Help at Home Service. The needs of the clients will be assessed by the Help at Home Co-ordinator prior to allocating the visit to ensure you are not expected to carry out work outside of your remit. You will be provided with guidance regarding keeping yourself and your client safe, including Covid19 safety guidance, and the Co-ordinator will inform you of any potential risks that have been identified in clients' homes.
Who can become a Home Helper for Age Concern Hampshire?
We are looking for individuals who are:

* Good listeners
Experience in either cleaning or caring lines of work is essential. Ideally you will have experience of working with older and disabled people, but most important is the desire to improve the lives of older people.
Home Helpers are registered self-employed and therefore responsible for paying their own tax, insurance and National Insurance contributions. No sick pay or holiday pay will be included. Work cannot be guaranteed starting out but schedules are gradually built up over a few months.
All Home Helpers will need to hold a driver's licence with own transportation.
All Home Helpers will need to have a satisfactory enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. As part of your application process, we ask that you pay for a DBS check, costing £53.60, unless you already have one that is less than a year old and covers Adult Workforce.
