Role Overview
This manager role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. You will maintain and develop the standards and reputation, nurture a growing membership base and team, and support the club’s operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks; report and chase all defects to keep the building and equipment safe.
* Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure daily operational expectations are delivered.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Work towards and achieve all sales and membership targets set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the whole gym facility.
* Ensure in‑house cleaners (General Assistants) maintain cleaning standards.
* Manage the weekly banking process to minimise wastage and variance, maximising profit.
* Ensure uniform standards are adhered to by all team members and yourself.
* Deliver outstanding member service.
* Create an environment where the team enjoys working.
* Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience
* Proven and successful management experience within a leisure related industry.
* Passion for customer service and inspirational leadership.
* Qualification at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity and recruiting & managing a successful team.
* Preferable experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing business areas within a leisure facility or significant experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational function.
