Job Description
IT Product Owner – Planning, Scheduling & Optimisation Platform
Location: Stoke / Hybrid
We’re looking for a hands-on IT Product Owner to take full ownership of enterprise planning and scheduling platforms that underpin field-based service delivery. This is a critical role focused on configuration, optimisation, integrations, and data quality—ensuring systems genuinely work for operations across engineering, maintenance, and cleaning services.
This is not a purely strategic product role. It’s about getting into the detail—owning how systems are built, configured, and continuously improved to drive real operational outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:
* Own and manage planning, scheduling, and optimisation platforms end-to-end
* Configure and optimise system rules including workforce capacity, SLAs, skills, and service constraints
* Translate operational requirements into scalable, automated system logic
* Lead the full change lifecycle including enhancements, releases, and environment management
* Oversee integrations with FM systems, mobile workforce tools, and wider enterprise platforms
* Ensure data integrity across jobs, assets, workforce, and scheduling inputs
* Act as the escalation point for system issues impacting service delivery
* Monitor system performance and continuously improve optimisation effectiveness
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience as a Product Owner, Systems Owner, or Application Owner
* Strong hands-on experience with planning, scheduling, or field service systems
* Solid technical capability including data handling and experience with SQL
* Experience managing integrations, APIs, and data flows across enterprise systems
* Strong understanding of change control, release management, and system governance
* Background working in operational environments such as field service, engineering, or FM
* Confident working between IT and operations, able to challenge and influence stakeholders
Why this role?
* Own a business-critical platform with real operational impact
* Work in a complex, fast-paced environment where your decisions directly affect service delivery
* Be part of a function driving standardisation, automation, and efficiency at scale
* Opportunity to shape how technology supports frontline operations across the business
