Bid Writer (Maternity Cover FTC)
£45K-£50K Basic Salary
Location: Primarily home-based, with team days twice per month in Canary Wharf, London
We are seeking an experienced and creative Bid Writer to join a global learning provider on a maternity cover contract. This role will be responsible for managing and producing high-quality bids and proposals across the EMEA region. You will lead the registration and tracking of bid opportunities, write compelling proposal responses, and maintain a central bid library. Working closely with sales, marketing, and project teams, you’ll play a key part in supporting business growth through the creation of persuasive and tailored written content.
Responsibilities
•Identify, register, and track new business opportunities via bid and supplier portals.
•Manage the full bid process, including Bid/No Bid decisions, compliance checks, and quality reviews.
•Produce persuasive, customer-focused written responses to RFPs, RFQs, and other proposal requests.
•Maintain and update a comprehensive bid content library for future use.
•Develop supporting materials such as consultant bios, customer presentations, and use cases.
•Coordinate bid review, progress, and decision meetings.
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders – including Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Project teams – to ensure alignment with business goals.
•Ensure all proposals reflect consistent tone, brand, and messaging.
Skills
•Strong written communication skills with a flair for creative and technical writing.
•Excellent organisation and project management abilities.
•Confident managing multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
•Skilled in stakeholder engagement and collaboration across teams.
•Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience using AI writing tools (e.g., Copilot) beneficial.
•Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
Qualifications
•Formal training or certification in bid writing or proposal management is desirable.
•Degree-level education in professional writing or equivalent experience
Experience
•Minimum of two years’ experience in a bid writing or bid management role, ideally within the training sector
•Demonstrated success in producing high-quality, winning proposals.
•Experience managing bid processes from opportunity identification through to submission.
•Familiarity with working in a structured sales environment and cross-functional collaboration.
•Exposure to technical or IT-related content advantageous.
