Smart Teachers are recruiting a committed and experienced SENCO to join a large, inclusive secondary academy in East London from January 2026.
The successful candidate will work closely with the existing SENCO team to lead, manage and develop SEND provision across the campus, ensuring that all students with additional needs receive the highest quality support and learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing the strategic development of SEND provision
* Leading a team of experienced SEN practitioners and support staff
* Coordinating EHCP processes and ensuring statutory compliance
* Providing professional guidance and training to staff
* Supporting inclusive teaching and learning across the curriculum
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Proven experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary setting
