Are you hardworking, committed, and passionate about helping young people and their families improve their lives and avoid family breakdown? Do you have multiple skills?
We have an exciting opportunity in the Adolescent Early Help South 1 unit, covering Dover, Deal and Folkestone and Hythe Districts.
The Integrated Adolescent Service has been formed in recognition that adolescents should be given a bespoke offer of support. We want professionals capable of bringing understanding and emotional intelligence to everything they do. The service promotes a practice philosophy which seeks to empower young people and their families, building on individual strengths, and helping them to develop strategies which support them to understand, manage and respond to the difficulties they face.

 * Undertake assessments and provide intensive support to empower young people and their families to develop effective long‑term solutions to manage their family relationships and develop strategies to overcome the risks that adolescents face during this phase of their life.
 * Assess children who have caused harm to others and offer support to help prevent them becoming first‑time entrants into the Criminal Justice System, using the Child First Approach.
 * Write a Prevention Diversion Assessment Toolkit (PDAT) to assist a multi‑disciplinary team in deciding on an outcome for a child to deter further harmful behaviours, through planned supportive work identified by the child and the family.
 * Complete assessments of young people and their carers to determine their needs and capabilities, and draw up plans of support.
 * Deliver 1:1 interventions with young people and work with their family as part of a systems‑led approach.
 * Use strengths‑based and solution‑focused intervention methods to mediate, reunify, and promote young people to remain safely at home with their family and support networks.
 * Support young people to express their wishes and feelings, providing advocacy wherever necessary.
 * Contribute towards safety planning, and link young people with positive activities and partner agencies to ensure their needs are met holistically.
 * Work as part of a team, building positive relationships with professionals in the Youth Justice Teams, Adolescent Early Help Units, Youth Open Access and Adolescent Support Team staff.
 * Draw upon various theories to bring about change for adolescents with a range of difficulties.
Qualifications
 * Experience of working with children, young people and families in a similar role or setting.

 * Ability to travel around the area and visit families at home.
 * Understanding of multi‑agency work, flexibility, innovative thinking and good organisation skills.
