Base pay range


Responsibilities

* Hands‑on lead for Functional, System, System Integration (SIT), End‑to‑End (E2E) and Security testing of critical applications using automation frameworks such as Selenium and Karate.
* Plan and manage tasks for a small squad (3-4) test automation engineers; provide coaching and mentoring to develop capability and good practice.
* Design, implement and maintain reliable, maintainable test automation scenarios and suites; identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimisation.
* Analyse results and defects, drive root‑cause analysis, and implement optimisation and stability improvements.
* Collaborate closely with developers, analysts and system architects to evolve automation assets, conventions and reusable patterns.
* Continuously refactor automation assets and test data approaches; partner with the Senior Test Manager and product teams to prioritise fixes and land changes.
* Contribute to hiring (sourcing, interviewing, onboarding) and continuous process improvement across the test/quality lifecycle.
* Contribute to the Performance Test Strategy, coordinating with performance specialists and adjacent teams.


Skills / Experience

* Hands-on test automation experience with recognised frameworks and tooling.
* Proficiency with API/functional test tools such as SoapUI and Postman.
* Experience authoring System, Functional, E2E, API, Security and UI test scripts using industry‑standard automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Karate).
* Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools and techniques across the SDLC.
* Knowledge of middleware / message‑queuing (e.g., Kafka, IBM MQ, ACE) and testing considerations in integration‑heavy environments.
* Experience with code quality & security tooling, e.g. SonarQube, Fortify, Twistlock/Prisma
* Experience with test management and traceability tools such as JIRA/XRAY
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with DevOps engineers, partners and cross‑functional teams.
* Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Eggplant Performance).
* Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Microsoft Fabric.
* Familiarity with Oracle ERP solutions (e.g., HCM / ORC).
* Exposure to generative AI use‑cases in testing/engineering contexts.
* Understanding of Oracle Database concepts and ability to produce Tableau queries/dashboards.
* Broad familiarity with software and platform technologies, e.g., HTML, VB, .NET, XML, XBRL, Java, Web Services/SOA/SOAP, Unix/Linux, Oracle, SQL, SharePoint, SAP.
* Knowledge of Eggplant Functional and related tooling.

Salary and Benefits Information

We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.

In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:

* Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
* A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
* An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
* 26 days' annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.
* Private medical insurance and income protection.


National Security Vetting Process

Employment in this role will be subject to the National Security Vetting clearance process (and typically can take between 6 to 12 weeks post offer) and the passing of additional Bank security checks in accordance with the Bank policy. Further information regarding the vetting and security clearance requirements for the role will be provided to the successful applicant, and information about how the Bank processes personal data for these purposes, is set out in the Bank's Privacy Notice.
