Job Title: Behaviour Intervention Lead
Location: Pontypridd
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (agency probation period)

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and skilled professional to join the pastoral team of a partner school of ours as a Behaviour Intervention Lead. This is a key role within the school, focused on promoting positive behaviour, improving student engagement, and supporting pupils who require targeted behavioural interventions to succeed academically and socially.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure that all students are supported to meet high expectations for behaviour and learning.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of behaviour intervention strategies for identified students.
Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils experiencing behavioural or emotional challenges.
Support teachers with behaviour management approaches and inclusive classroom strategies.
Monitor, track, and analyse behaviour data to inform interventions and report on progress.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s behaviour policy and pastoral systems.
Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure coordinated support for students.
Provide mentoring, coaching, and restorative interventions to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
Support reintegration programmes for students returning from suspension or alternative provision.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting (secondary experience desirable).
Demonstrates strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
Has excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Is resilient, empathetic, and committed to inclusion and student wellbeing.
Can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Is organised, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Holds relevant qualifications in education, youth work, psychology, or a related field (desirable but not essential with strong experience).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
