Your new company This County Down-based client offers a full range of construction services including management, contracting, design & build & partnerships, in addition to traditional building arrangements. The range of work undertaken varies in type and size, from £multimillion contracts to small and medium-sized projects. With multiple sites based across NI and ROI, this contractor's primary activity is undertaking large, complex projects in commercial, retail, tourism, high-tech and institutional buildings, refurbishment and civil engineering works. Seeking to add a Site Engineer, you will cover a short-term contract for 10-12 weeks in South Down, assisting with the external works, access roads, kerbing and surfacing packages. Your new role This is initially a single site role where you will cover the building of a new school in South Down. You must be technically competent at setting out using a robotic total station, taking levels, using AutoCAD and have 1 to 3 years on-site experience in an engineering role. As Site Engineer, you must be able to demonstrate project delivery and be confident in supervising subcontractors and plant, as well as being health and safety conscious. You will manage works on site through to handover with all engineering responsibilities in between. What you'll need to succeed To be considered successful, applicants must be within a reasonable commute to the South Down area. Ideally, you will be based in the Armagh / Down areas to minimise any major travel. You will be required to have an up-to-date CSR card and any other industry qualifications (street works licence, first aid) are beneficial but not essential at this stage. 1-3 years' previous engineering experience will be required, with a preference to those who have worked on commercial or civils schemes, however all sectors including residential experience will be considered.
