Volt is immediately hiring Tool Maker in Rochester, NY
The Assembly Integration Focus Factory, is looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join the assembly and integration team. Candidate must possess a machining and fabrication background and ability to work within tight tolerance specifications.
* Scope is focused on the timely execution of assigned tasks as an individual contributor and function well within a team environment.
* This role involves working directly with engineers on the design, development and fabrication of new and existing products to optimize design for manufacturability.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel.
* Willing to submit to a background investigation, as a government security clearance might be required for this position.
* Must be able to read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions.
* Ability to maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
* Must be mechanically inclined, and be able to work with very fragile and precise assemblies
* Speaks clearly and concisely, presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups.
* Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions.
* Demonstrates appropriate computer knowledge.
* Understands and adheres to established policies, procedures and proper labor charging practices.
* Must be able to perform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environment.
* Proficient with operating Mills, surface grinder and lathe.
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience or 2 years post- Secondary/Associates Degree with 2 to 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Skilled Journeyman's Certification.
* Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical fabrication discipline.
* Aerospace or Defense industry experience.
* Experience with CNC programming utilizing Mastercam.
* Experience working with composite materials.
* Experience with MIG/TIG welding.
* Experience with sheet metal fabrication.
This is a 5 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
Pay Range : $29.00 - $33 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
