Join to apply for the Project Officer - Nature role at West Midlands Combined Authority.
This role is a three-year fixed-term contract within the Environment Team at WMCA. It offers the opportunity to support the delivery of nature-based projects across the region, protect and restore green spaces, attract environmental investment, and drive forward the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS).
You’ll work closely with the Nature Projects Delivery Manager, internal teams, and external partners including local authorities, environmental charities and national bodies. Responsibilities include data management, meeting coordination, supporting funding bids and project reporting, with varied day-to-day activities.

What you’ll be doing
* Supporting the delivery of nature projects, including those in our LNRS
* Coordinating stakeholder engagement and governance activity
* Managing data and updates for the Nature Investment Hub
* Assisting with funding applications and reporting
* Contributing to budget tracking and communications activity
* Working collaboratively with partners to deliver environmental impact across the region
What’s Essential
* Experience supporting or coordinating projects and engaging stakeholders
* Awareness of environmental or nature-based issues in the UK
* Excellent communication, organisation and data handling skills
* Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Location
The location for this role is Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week in the office.
