Overview
We’re looking for a Civil Engineering Student to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team on the Hinkley Point project in Bridgwater on an industrial placement. You’ll gain hands-on experience through a 12-month placement with potential to lead onto a graduate position.

Pathway and schedule
12 Months – various shift patterns depending on project needs: 12:00 - 22:30, Night shift 16:30 - 03:00 (7 days on, 3 days off), Day shift 07:00 - 17:30 (7 on, 4 off). Potential to lead onto a Graduate position.

What you will be responsible for
As an Industrial Placement Civil Engineer, you’ll assist in planning & coordination, design & management of construction projects, and on-site activities, managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and a foundation in quantity surveying.
What will your day-to-day duties include
* Assisting in the planning, execution, and management of projects relevant to your field of study.
* Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to support project objectives.
* Conducting research and analysis to inform project decisions and strategies.
* Preparing reports, presentations, and documentation related to project activities.
* Participating in team meetings and contributing to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

What are we looking for?
We’re looking for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year from 2026-2027. After your placement, you’ll be returning to university with a graduation year of 2028.
* Strong interest in construction engineering and project management.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
