Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias with Electrical Knowledge)
Location: Llantrisant
Salary: £40,000
Shifts: Monday to Friday (6-2 / 2-10)
This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to get off nights or wanting their weekends back.
We're seeking a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias and solid electrical knowledge—someone capable of wiring a motor and dismantling a gearbox without googling. Your role will involve preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns, installations, and overhauls—basically, you’ll be hands-on with a variety of tasks.
This isn’t a desk job. You'll be on your feet, tools in hand, working in an FMCG production environment to keep the plant running smoothly and safely. The work is reactive and proactive, ensuring no two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing
1. PPM and reactive maintenance across plant and site facilities
2. Responding quickly to breakdowns (no waiting around for others)
3. Ensuring equipment is fit for purpose and safe to operate
4. Participating in machine installations and relocations
5. Working on single and three-phase circuits
6. Maintaining compliance with BRC and H&S standards
What You'll Need
1. Recognised electrical or mechanical apprenticeship
2. Multi-skilled mechanical bias with strong electrical know-how (NVQ / City and Guilds Level 3)
3. Experience in a food or FMCG production environment (bonus points for BRC knowledge)
4. Willingness to alternate shifts and cover call-outs as needed
5. Health & Safety awareness and risk assessment confidence
If you enjoy getting your hands dirty, engaging your brain, and working somewhere that values operational excellence, this role is for you.
