Role Overview

Greater Manchester Moving (GM Moving) invites applications for a part‑time Sport Welfare Officer. The role focuses on strengthening and championing welfare and safeguarding standards across clubs, youth and community groups, and organisations delivering any form of movement, physical activity and sport.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop and lead a national network of Sport Welfare Officers.
* Build and foster relationships with people, communities, system partners and sector organisations.
* Promote a whole‑system approach to supporting community networks, activities and opportunities to move more and tackle inequality.
* Advise and support clubs and organisations in implementing welfare and safeguarding best practice.
* Collaborate with the GM Moving team and external partners to advance the ten‑year strategy "GM Moving in Action".


Working Hours & Contract

22.2 hours per week (three days). Fixed‑term contract to March 2027.


Compensation

£35,412 – £40,777 per annum, pro‑rata (entry‑level unless exceptional circumstances).

* Knowledge, skills and experience in sport welfare, safeguarding and inclusive practice.
* Ability to unite diverse stakeholders around a shared vision.
* Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
* Experience in working with diverse communities and inter‑sector partnerships.
