Customer Support Engineer – A New Career Path in the Lift Industry
At DAC, we're not just a manufacturer — we're industry leaders in lift controllers and ancillary equipment. Guided by the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and rooted in our core values — Proactive, Delivering Excellence, Best Value, Dependable — we're building a team that's trusted, skilled, and future-focused.
We're looking for a Customer Support Engineer to strengthen our growing support team. This role is perfect for two types of people:
* Experienced lift engineers looking for a career shift into a role with less day-to-day site work, but still heavily technical and customer-facing.
* Electrically skilled engineers (control circuits, motors, drives) seeking to apply their expertise in the specialist world of lifts, supported with full training.
What you'll be doing
* Troubleshoot control circuits, motors, and drives remotely and on-site.
* Guide customers step-by-step in fault finding and equipment set-up.
* Provide training at our factory or on customer sites.
* Keep our technical support system up to date so colleagues and customers always have accurate information.
* Support modifications, share insights with colleagues, and ensure all customer queries are resolved or escalated.
* Represent DAC as the Dependable Technical Contact our customers can always trust.
What you bring
* Essential: Electrical/electronic background with hands-on experience in control circuits, motors, and drives.
* Nice to have: Lift industry experience (but not essential — we provide comprehensive training).
* NVQ Level 4 / ONC or higher in an Electrical/Electronic discipline.
* Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and adapt support to the customer's skill level.
* A proactive, professional approach — someone who takes ownership and delivers excellence.
The role
* First 6 months based at our Daventry Head Office for induction and training.
* Thereafter, a mix of hybrid working, remote support, and UK-wide travel (company vehicle provided).
* Reports to the Customer Service Manager.
Why this role?
* For lift engineers: Use your hard-earned skills in a new way — less time on the tools, more time leading customers and problem-solving.
* For electrical engineers: Step into a thriving specialist sector with a stable career path and structured training.
* For both: Work in a values-driven company where you'll have clear goals under EOS, opportunities to grow, and the backing of a supportive team.
Our Core Values
At DAC, we don't just talk about values — we live them:
* Proactive – anticipating and acting before problems arise.
* Delivering Excellence – striving for the highest standards in everything.
* Best Value – providing effective, reliable solutions for customers.
* Dependable – being the trusted partner our customers can always count on.
If you're an experienced lift engineer ready for a fresh challenge, or an electrical engineer looking to step into the lift industry, this role offers the perfect balance of technical depth, customer interaction, and long-term career growth.
