This job is to work every day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon between 1 pm and 6 pm
The Rockwell and Wrose Practice is a busy GP surgery in Bradford 2
We have 11 250 patients and work over two branches in North Bradford.
This role is demanding but rewarding.
We are looking for an afternoon "front of house" Medical Receptionist to work EVERY week day; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 1pm and 6 pm.
The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator, helpful and patient, but primarily learn quickly and be able to multitask.
Working with the public is both challenging and stressful, therefore someone who is calm under pressure, and professional.

Main duties of the job
Front of house receptionist between 1 pm and 6 pm every day
We are fully digitised - running total digital triage appointments system therefore keyboard fluency and high level of digital/ technological competency essential
Telephony
Administration ( back office functions eg appointment recall, ambulance bookings, home visit requests, messages and tasks etc)

We are GP training practice with 2 GP registrars and also an Advanced Practitioner Apprentice in Training
We have an excellent team of Nurses and Health Care Assistants to manage our patients
Total of 32 staff across two branches in North Bradford ( from time to time the successful applicant may be asked to work at the other branch)

Job responsibilities
Medical Receptionist Duties 1pm- 6 pm as follows
Monday
Tuesday
Thursday and
Friday
Polite and professional Front of House meetingand greeting
Run surgeries, deal with patient enquiries (in person, on computer and on telephone)
Book appointments to extended access service ( out of hours)
Manage requests for online services
Take clear and concise messages with allrelevant details records
Maintain patient safety and patientconfidentiality
Process repeat prescriptions using practiceprotocol
Liaise with local chemists as appropriate
Book ambulances (and record as per protocol)
Book Interpreters ( face to face and telephonebookings)
New patient and temporary patient administration
Telephone liaison with secondary careproviders and laboratories chasing up appointments and results.
General enquiries
Chaperone as required.
General Admin Duties
Manage computer generated tasks on daily basis
Promote patient surveys and newsletters
Clinical Recall and Administration letters
SMS & System Connect messages to patients(reminders etc)
Signpost patients to services ( eg CarersResource, social prescriber, pharmacist) including Care Navigation
Contribute to practice performance targets
Attend relevant training to meet therequirements of the role and improve skills
Log IT faults and problems to helpdesk
Use practice portals eg; Clarity Teamsnet, forpractice policies and training
Adhere to data security at all times (cleardesk procedures, lock out computers etc)
Daily post duties ( open mail, stamp etc) andmail all post at end of shift
Photocopying
Open and close premises (lock doors, setalarms, close and lock windows)
complete annual e -learning mandatory training
Attend any work-related training as required
Agree a Personal development plan at annualappraisal
Attend General staff meetings
Make refreshments and maintain tidy kitchenarea
Maintain tidy workspace
Report all incidents or near miss incidents toline manager (admin or clinical)
Any other duties deemed appropriate by line manager.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Experience of working with the general public
* At least 2 years reception clerical work
* Previous employment as medical receptionist or Data Input clerk in General Practice environment
* Familiar with GP clinical system System one
