Established in 1943, our environmental education charity provides day and residential courses for all ages, from young children to retired adults, from schools and communities throughout the UK, reaching many others through our publications and community-based programmes.
What you’ll be doing
As our casual minibus driver, you will be driving our students and other course participants to and from outdoor learning locations in the local area. Our fleet includes a 17 seat Ford Transit and a 9 seat Ford Tourneo, so confidence in driving these vehicles is essential.
It will be your responsibility to take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of your passengers. This will include making sure all passengers are present, seated and wearing their seatbelts before commencing a journey.

Where you’ll be based
The Field Studies Council Millport centre is situated on the Isle of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. Surrounded by nature, purpose-built teaching spaces, and comfortable accommodation with sea views, the centre offers an inspiring environment to lead, learn, and deliver engaging outdoor education. Its eco-friendly design and access to a Research Vessel allow staff and students to explore the marine environment in unique ways.

We ask that you have
4. Minimum 2 years regular driving experience, with proven safe driving practice.
5. Full UK Driving Licence with D1 entitlement (minibus)
6. Strong awareness of the Highway Code and relevant health and safety practices.
7. Excellent communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude.
