Mechanical Fitter – Winches & Stage Machinery

A globally recognised business in Hemsworth that designs and builds bespoke staging, set pieces, and stage machinery for the live entertainment industry is looking for a Mechanical Fitter. You'll be assembling and fitting mechanical systems - predominantly winches - for major tours, concerts, and live events worldwide.
What you'll be doing:
Assembling mechanical systems including bearings, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, and linear rails
Fitting and building winch systems for stage machinery
Fitting and aligning moving parts to ensure smooth and safe mechanical function
Working from engineering drawings and assembly plans
Performing functional testing and basic fault-finding on mechanical systems
Conducting quality checks to ensure work meets specifications and safety requirements
Using hand tools and precision measuring equipment for mechanical fitting
Supporting other stage machinery projects cross-departmentally as required
What you need:
Proven mechanical fitting experience
Hands-on experience with machine assembly or mechanical builds
Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and assembly drawings
Good understanding of mechanical systems (bearings, gearboxes, drive systems)
Competent with hand tools and precision measuring equipment
Ability to work to tight tolerances and safety standards
Winch or rigging experience is a significant advantage but not essential
