SSD Assistant/Spire Nottingham/Tollerton/Bank/Ad-Hoc Shifts/Competitive Rates of Pay

Spire (Blank) Hospital has an exciting opportunity for (Blank) to join the team on a (Blank) basis.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under general supervision, with opportunity to make independent decisions, performs duties that will include receiving, sorting, inspecting, cleaning, disinfecting, assembling, preparing, sterilizing, storing and issuing reusable surgical instruments and equipment.

To assist the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide exemplary care by ensuring theatre and endoscopy instrumentation and equipment are correct and ready for use.

1. Undertake routine tasks related to individual’s health and well-being.
2. Production and communication of information and knowledge
3. Contribute to own personal development.
4. Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety and security.
5. Assist in maintaining and developing services.
6. Ensure own actions help to maintain quality.
7. Ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights.
8. Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI

Who we're looking for:

9. Level I – GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
10. Level II – Certificate in Decontamination or NVQ level 3 in Decontamination
11. Or TVQ level 1 & 2 in Decontamination
12. Or City and Guilds Certificates in Decontamination / Endoscopy
13. Experience involving quality systems
14. Experience involving checking and monitoring.
15. Literacy in the use of IT equipment and software
16. Basic awareness of health, safety and hygiene
17. English language to IELTS 7.0
18. Possess the mandatory training requirements for role including infection control and health and safety competencies.
19. Possess Decontamination Equipment and Medical devices competences
20. Knowledge of medical terminology
21. Trained on MS Office and other relevant packages
22. Awareness of role of SSD
