Job Purpose
As a graduate engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers both on site and in the office to develop skills and independence while contributing to the design and analysis of engineering projects.
You will be involved in the technical aspects of projects, supporting the preparation of designs, calculations, and reports. The role offers opportunities to develop client liaison and project management skills, including time and budget management.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Assist in the development of designs, calculations, and reports.
* Support the preparation of technical drawings and specifications.
* Assist in the preparation of fee and tender proposals.
* Attend site visits and surveys (under supervision) as required.
* Learn to apply relevant design codes and standards (e.g., British Standards, Eurocodes).
* Engage in training and professional development activities.
* Support senior engineers in project planning, execution, and documentation.
* Work to project timelines and budgets, and communicate with Project Managers.
Person Specification
Education
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
* A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development toward Incorporated or Chartered Engineering status.
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge of relevant technical analysis and design software, and AutoCAD.
* Strong attention to detail and adherence to Quality Assurance Management Systems.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years of internship or project experience in a relevant area.

Additional Responsibilities
* A full, clean driving licence would be an advantage.
* Familiarity with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley (MicroStation) software.
* Due to the nature of the role, site work and occasional overnight or weekend work may be required.
