Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven TA for an SEN TA role in an SEMH Secondary School in Chorley.
This is an SEN role, and the students may present with ADHD, Autism, emotional regulation difficulties, and some will come from traumatic backgrounds.
You must have an understanding around SEN, and be willing to engage with and support challenging students to break down barriers.
You will be working 1 to 1 with complex young people, and you must be comfortable with challenging behaviour.
Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
Patience is important, and some of these students may struggle with problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have a background involving young people with additional needs, and although experience in the classroom is not mandatory, you must have relevant experience.
The school does not utilise a punitive approach, and the main focus is to allow students the time to regulate before they engage in their work.

Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
