Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor (HSE) – Milton Keynes, Refresco

What to expect as a HSE Advisor at Refresco:
We are looking for a passionate HSE Advisor with drive for keeping people safe and driving engagement across the HSE programme. As part of the team, you will be expected to promote a high-performance safety culture and deliver risk reduction across the manufacturing operations. Reporting to the site Factory Manager you will provide support to the site leadership team to ensure effective management of the HSE Management System. To drive a consistent approach across all HSE activities on the Refresco site whilst working with all departments to ensure compliance. You will drive local ownership and progress for the site and be supported by the central functions. You will be required to compile compliance reports and liaise with regulators such as the Environmental Agency.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
1. Working to maintain the requirements set out in the Company HSE Management System, in accordance to site requirements and group standardised documents.
2. Work collaboratively with site PLT and UK Head of Health, Safety and Environment to ensure group consistency in the delivery of the HSE improvement agenda.
3. Technical support, advice and guidance to Site Area managers and any other personnel on any HSE related matters
4. Promote RADAR scheme and other proactive HSE activities.
5. Liaise with plant HR Business Partner on Occupational Health matters.
Providing support, assistance and guidance to Departments on:
6. Risk assessment programmes
7. HSE audit and inspection programmes
8. In The Development of Standard Operating Procedures
9. Incident investigations and training of this to other staff
10. Change management
Responsibility for:
11. HSE consultation and communication
12. HSE performance management
13. HSE Objectives
14. HSE Audit schedules
15. Emergency Preparedness
16. HSE non-conformances and close out
17. PPE requirements
18. Benchmark system management and statistics
Engage with site and report on HSE KPI’s including:
19. Accident statistics
20. Environmental Permit Annual Returns
21. Environmental KPI’s
About you:
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a busy manufacturing and engineering environment with 2+ years as a HSE Advisor.
22. Up to date knowledge of UK HSE legislation and its practical application
23. NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety as a minimum
24. Good Microsoft packages experience
25. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
