This role is diverse and acts as the Trust expert in areas such as environmental compliance, waste compliance, management of utilities, and sustainability.
This role will provide guidance and advice to Trust members to ensure compliance with legislation and NHS directives, and will drive the Green Committee and Champions to deliver the Trust Green Plan within the agreed timescales.
The role requires understanding technical innovations to move towards carbon net zero and how they can be applied, as well as leading efforts to establish funding streams and routes to market for the Trust.
As the Trust expert, there will be significant liaison and input with external bodies such as the HCP, ICB, NHSe, other Trusts, and external providers.
Please note this role is currently only advertised to staff members working within the Kent and Medway ICB.
You will support the Associate Director of Capital Development in delivering Capital Projects and Capital Backlog maintenance. While reporting to this director, you will need close links with the Director of Estates & Capital Development and the Operational Estates teams to ensure cost-effective compliance and maintenance revenue obligations (effective lifecycle costs).
You will be required to communicate complex technical project information to a wide range of groups, including Directors, Senior Managers, suppliers, and both specialists and non-specialists.
Expert knowledge of HTM / HBN / CIBSIE and applicable regulatory requirements is essential, along with the ability to interpret these to balance compliance and cost-effectiveness during the compilation of project specifications.
You will be responsible for engineering maintenance, estates operational policy development, and all project documentation, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and up to date.
Patient safety and comfort must be central to all project deliverables, with full compliance with building and H&S requirements.
You will support the administration of the Capital programme using a risk-based methodology, including backlog maintenance, wayfinding, asbestos surveys, and 6-facet surveys.
