Package Description
Deputy Manager – Adult Residential
Location: Skewen, Neath
Hours: 35 hours per week
SALARY: £14.60 - £15.20* per hour
Level 5 Qualified Salary: £15.10 - £15.70* per hour
Reporting to: Registered Manager
About Ffordd Newydd
Ffordd Newydd is a residential transitional Mental Health service, supporting 6 people within their own individual studio apartments. We are passionate about enabling people to make their own choices about the support they receive. We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone. We understand the importance of providing person-centred support which enables independence and meets individual’s needs.
What You’ll Do
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the daily operations of our adult residential services. You’ll lead and inspire a team of support staff, ensuring that we deliver outstanding care and support in line with regulatory standards (CQC/CIW). We offer you the autonomy and responsibility to make a difference while developing your leadership skills in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead by Example: Manage, inspire, and motivate a team of support workers. You’ll be hands-on, supporting them while creating a positive, inclusive work culture where everyone thrives.
* Service Coordination: Oversee the daily operations of our services, ensuring person-centred care is delivered and that we comply with CQC/CIW regulations. Your organizational skills will be key to ensuring smooth operations.
* Rota Management: You’ll take charge of scheduling to ensure that we have the right people in the right places, keeping staffing levels flexible and efficient.
* Quality Control: Conduct audits and assessments, ensuring that we continue to meet the highest standards. You’ll be the driving force in maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
* Supportive Leadership: Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to your team, helping them grow in their careers. You’ll also be involved in crisis management, safeguarding, and ensuring all support plans are delivered effectively.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: You’ve got experience in a similar environment and have a solid understanding of CQC/CIW regulations.
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Health and Social Care, with a willingness to complete Level 5. Experience in Health and Safety is also a plus.
* Drive & Passion: You’re motivated, adaptable, and genuinely care about making a difference. You’re comfortable leading a team and handling challenges with a positive, proactive approach.
* Full Driving License: You’ll need a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
