SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary
Milk Education are working on behalf of a welcoming primary school in North Tyneside who are looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role, supporting a pupil in Key Stage 2 with additional needs on a one-to-one basis.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with additional learning and emotional needs
2. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
3. Support with the development of social skills, behaviour, and independence
4. Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
5. Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents to ensure consistent progress
Requirements:
6. Previous experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. Autism, ADHD, SEMH)
7. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
8. Strong communication and teamwork skills
9. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the child’s individual needs
10. A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
