About the Role
We are looking for confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Stansted and the surrounding areas. This position is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with experience working with young people who want to gain valuable classroom experience before moving into a teaching career.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay engaged and focused on their work.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise classes during teacher absences
2. Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects
3. Maintain strong classroom behaviour management in line with school policies
4. Support students in completing their work
5. Provide clear feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and behaviour
About You
6. A degree or relevant experience working with young people (e.g. sports coaching, tutoring, youth work)
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Confidence managing groups of students aged 11–16 (up to 18 in some schools)
9. A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching
10. Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
