The Opportunity Our client's CICA department is experiencing sustained growth and success, creating this exciting opportunity for a dedicated litigation lawyer to join their expanding team. Key highlights: Meaningful work making a real difference to vulnerable clients' lives Growing department with excellent career development opportunities Comprehensive caseload from initial applications to tribunal representation Supportive environment focused on professional development and client care Your Responsibilities Caseload Management: Managing your own caseload of CICA claims from initial applications through to appeals and tribunal hearings Client Support: Supporting clients through the compensation process with empathy and professionalism Complex Cases: Handling complex criminal injury cases including physical assault, sexual assault, and domestic violence claims Legal Documentation: Preparing comprehensive case documentation and legal submissions Tribunal Representation: Representing clients at tribunal hearings and appeals Vulnerable Client Care: Working with vulnerable clients requiring sensitive and compassionate support Department Development: Contributing to the growth and development of the CICA department Case Strategy: Developing effective case strategies to maximise compensation outcomes Client Communication: Maintaining regular, clear communication with clients throughout their cases Quality Standards: Ensuring all work meets the firm's high standards of client care and legal excellence Essential Requirements Experience & Qualifications: CICA claims experience or similar litigation work (minimum 1-2 years preferred) UK qualified solicitor or legal executive with relevant litigation background Caseload management experience with proven ability to handle busy workloads Tribunal experience representing clients at hearings (desirable) Key Skills: Attention to detail with ability to prepare comprehensive legal documentation Empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive and traumatic cases Strong communication skills with excellent client care focus Resilience and sensitivity working with vulnerable clients through difficult times Organisational abilities to manage multiple complex cases effectively Commitment to justice and helping clients achieve fair compensation Personal Qualities: Compassionate approach to client care and support Professional integrity in handling sensitive matters Team collaboration within a supportive department environment Continuous learning mindset for professional development Comprehensive Benefits Package Financial Rewards: Competitive salary: £30,000-£45,000 per annum (depending on experience) Annual salary reviews and performance-related increases Comprehensive pension scheme with employer contributions Work-Life Balance: Standard hours: Monday to Friday 8:45am – 5:30pm (38.75 hours per week) Free off-road parking at Roundhay office location Generous annual leave entitlement Flexible working arrangements where appropriate Career Development: Professional development opportunities within a growing department Training and support for CICA specialisation Mentorship opportunities within experienced team Career progression pathways in litigation and client care Additional Benefits: Private healthcare and wellbeing support Life assurance and income protection Employee assistance programme for personal and professional support Social activities and team building events Professional membership support and development Modern office environment with excellent facilities About Our Client Our client is a well-established Leeds law firm with an excellent reputation for client care and legal expertise.
