We are seeking an experienced Principal Bridge Engineer to join a growing team focused on high-impact bridge and civil engineering projects. This permanent position offers flexible working options in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advanced technical input on bridge and civil engineering projects.
* Work with both existing and new bridges, covering all aspects of superstructure, substructure, and articulation.
* Engage in early project stages, including scoping, specifying surveys, inspections, and preliminary design.
* Perform detailed design tasks, including modeling, calculations, and drawing review.
* Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and contract documents.
* Conduct technical reviews, including category 3 checks and site representation.
* Act as a point of contact for clients, including local and national authorities, consultants, and contractors.
* Mentor junior team members toward professional qualification.
Requirements
* Master's degree (or equivalent) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
* Chartered Engineer status with a recognized body (e.g., Engineers Ireland, ICE).
* 10+ years of experience in bridge engineering.
* Strong knowledge of bridge engineering software and design standards (e.g., Eurocodes, DMRB).
* Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and produce high-quality design outputs.
* Proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills
* Experience with multidisciplinary projects, including highways, geotechnics, or rail.
* Familiarity with business development and bid/tender work.
