Description
DAC Beachcroft is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our Clinical Risk team.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and passionate individual to join an award-winning, progressive and highly specialised team.
Our Clinical Risk cluster is the biggest nationally - handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work. The team acts for a variety of clients, including NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, the MDU, independent providers, and medical malpractice insurers.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a pre-litigated caseload of clinical negligence claims and Inquest matters of varying complexity and value
* Managing the cases in accordance with client protocols including data protection, billing and administrative oversight and running the files in accordance with internal and external KPIs
* Working collaboratively within the team to consistently deliver and uphold excellent service standards
* Making an appropriate contribution to non-fee-earning activity e.g. knowledge sharing, training, client seminars and business development
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Previous clinical negligence experience would be highly desirable but is not essential.
* We will also consider candidates with limited experience, but who have strong academic qualifications, are practical and enthusiastic and who have a strong sense of team and a desire to learn.
* An ability to understand and work through complex issues
* A demonstrable ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an 'academic' approach to legal issues and to be highly client- focused
* Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues, building up strong relationships
