Our Values: We Lead The Way | We Dream Big | We Get it Done | We Innovate | We Inspire our Community Role Purpose: To provide medical support, under supervision, for all women’s and girls’ players. This will predominantly be for the U12 and U14 Academy players. Main Duties/ Responsibilities 1. Delivery · Provide appropriate medical services including the prevention and treatment of injury in line with Club procedure. · Develop and implement innovative ideas to enhance service provision. · Support the Clubs multidisciplinary approach including the communication between staff, players and (where necessary) parents to optimise the well-being and development of all players. · Report to the Academy coaches Daily Player Readiness and player availability for training and matches. · Provide education to players on injury prevention. · Ensure appropriate clinical decision-making processes are followed to assess the fitness of a player to train or play. 2. Data, Reporting and Record Keeping · Ensure all injury and medical records are accurately updated on the Women’s Performance System in line with professional body and FA guidelines. · Season Injury Data Management and Reporting. · Ensure the treatment of injuries effectively meets the Club’s commitments to players, coaches and the senior management team through clinical audit and accurate documentation in line with the STA and/or SST. · Meet all club processes and procedures on recording of all injuries and rehabilitation undertaken for all women’s and girls’ players. 3. Testing · Assist with medical testing in conjunction with external service providers, and keep up to date club and external databases. 4. CPD · Undertake personal CPD as appropriate and keep a professional log/ profile of development. 5. Other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time-to-time by management Club Accountabilities 1. To comply with all Club policies, procedures and practices and carry out your role diligently and in the best interests of the Club 2. To lead with a proactive, high-performance mindset and actively contribute to a winning culture on and off the pitch 3. To behave in a manner consistent with Club values and policies 4. To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements. 5. To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Club and its personnel. What we are looking for Qualifications and Training Essential · A recognised Physiotherapy or Sport Therapist Qualification · Full registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), Chartered Physiotherapist (CSP) or membership of Society of Sports Therapists (SST) · Hold an up-to-date advanced emergency pitch side qualification e.g. Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) or equivalent Desirable · Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMIF) or equivalent Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential · A strong interest in working in a MDT to achieve collective objectives. · Good presentation and communication skills that can motivate behavioural change and facilitate the development of strong relationships with staff and players alike. · Good problem solving and clinical decision-making skills · Ability to work within scope of practice and within the boundaries of their limitations in experience, knowledge and/or skill. Able to ask for help when needed. · An interest in sport and recognition of the importance of promoting and supporting equality, safeguarding and anti-doping in sport · Prioritises their professional duty of care and clinical responsibilities over being "part of the team · Willingness to engage with and support both personal and team-wide Continued Professional Development (CPD) Desirable · Previous experience in a similar role in elite Academy sport Characteristics · Passionate about women’s football and broader women’s sport culture. · Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to deal with matrix stakeholders & ambiguity. · High standards of personal integrity and EQ. · Comfortable and able to work on own initiative · Has a learning mindset; is keen to continue their self-development and keep up to date with best practice and learning opportunities · Continually seeks to improve efficiency and performance · Seeks out and embraces new ways of thinking and working – not afraid to fail.
