We are looking for a INTERACT Manager to join our Child and Adolescent Crisis Team (INTERACT) in Acute and Rehabilitation Directorate. The Crisis Team (INTERACT) are an extended children's and young peoples crisis and assessment team. Offering Crisis, Outreach and CAMHS psychiatric liaison across acute hospital sites.
The team serves the children and young people of Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest who are in a mental health crisis in order to offer treatment at home in the least restrictive way. The team aims to formulate a person centred recovery plan which addresses a range of needs to resolve the crisis and work with the service user and their support network to develop strategies in order to prevent any future relapse.
The Crisis team work very closely with other services within NELFT as well as wider services to support the patient journey. The Team Manager will be expected to sustain these key relationships and promote good interface in order to ensure a smooth journey for the service user.
Main duties of the job
The Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the practices within the team are underpinned by the Trust Values and The NHS Long Term Plan. The functions of the team include gatekeeping all acute admissions, early discharge from inpatient services as well as crisis intervention using a range of interventions using a multi-disciplinary team approach.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, CEME)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
