Role: Editor – Medical Communications (Full-Time, Hybrid)
We are seeking a full-time Editor in Medical Communications to join a Beaconsfield-based team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home on selected days.
Editors play a vital role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of medical education materials. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality proofreading, editing, and compliance checks across a range of materials, including slides, videos, newsletters, meeting documents, infographics, posters, and websites. Ensuring adherence to industry standards and guidelines is essential.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring editorial assistants and contributing to the ongoing development of the editorial function. This includes implementing efficient processes and 'best practice' SOPs across various account teams.
You’ll collaborate closely with account management and medical writing teams and will be part of a broader editorial group that meets regularly to share insights, participate in training, and foster professional development.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Life Sciences, ideally with an advanced degree
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare communications
* Strong familiarity with the ABPI Code of Practice
* Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with a keen eye for grammar and punctuation
* Skilled in enhancing clarity, tone, and flow of copy
* Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (including formatting, graphing, and animations)
* Ability to edit according to various client style guides
* Strong referencing and fact-checking abilities
* Clear and confident written communication skills
* Comfortable interacting with clients and healthcare professionals when needed
* Analytical ability, including working with data sets and statistics
* Experience mentoring junior editorial staff is a plus
