Bramblys Grange Medical Practice is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to work 30 hours per week. We are looking for a committed individual to join our well-established team in a permanent role.
We require a healthcare assistant who is motivated, enthusiastic, driven, hardworking, and organized. The successful candidate will join our nursing team to provide primary care nursing services across our two Practice sites. We value flexible team players eager to deliver excellent, evidence-based primary care.

Main duties of the job
The Healthcare Assistant will assist GPs and the nursing team in delivering healthcare to our patients. The post holder will work under supervision to undertake delegated tasks and collaborate with the practice team to meet patient needs.
General duties include; dressings, phlebotomy, injections, supporting diabetic and asthmatic patients, stock management, and ordering.
About us
Bramblys Grange is a large, supportive practice in central Basingstoke with a branch at Rooksdown Surgery. Our nursing team includes a Lead Nurse, five Nurses, a Frailty Nurse, and four HCAs. We are a training practice for GP Registrars and student nurses, with extensive experience to share.

Job responsibilities
The purpose of the HCA role is to collaborate within the practice team to provide services to the community. Clinical skills development depends on practice needs, with training and updates ensuring evidence-based practice within scope. Responsibilities include:
* Phlebotomy
* Urinalysis
* General observations including ECGs
* Spirometry assessments
* Participation in clinics for mental health, COPD, diabetes, learning disabilities, and more
* Health promotion and referrals to other healthcare providers
* NHS health checks
* Assisting in women's health clinics
* Childhood immunisation administration
* Dressing clinics, vaccinations, and participation in influenza and COVID programs
* Achieving QOF and enhanced service targets
Person Specification
Experience
* Essential: Experience in direct patient care, preferably in general practice; good organizational skills
* Desirable: Knowledge of EMIS, primary care experience
Qualifications
* Essential: GCSE A-D in English and Maths
* Desirable: NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, qualified in Phlebotomy and Wound Care
