We have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant. The post is for 15 hours per week term time only. This is for 3 hours, 5 afternoons (12pm - 3pm) a week to include an hour assisting with lunchtime duties. This is a fixed term appointment for a year which will be reviewed at the end of the year.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of working with children; be sensitive and caring; have patience and a positive attitude; have a sense of humour; understand the importance of using positive behaviour strategies; be able to think flexibly; be able to use initiative to support children to overcome barriers and have clear and positive communication skills, communicating with both adults and children. They will be team players with high expectations of what children can achieve. We believe that all behaviours are a means of communication, therefore a non-judgemental and empathetic approach is key. A candidate with some recent training or awareness of Autistic Spectrum Disorder will be an advantage.
