What we are looking for: The Warehouse Operations Manager has overall responsibility for t he warehouse and its operational activities, Warehouse financial performance & impact on wider operations team. They ensure that all company, health and safety, security and environment policies and procedures are always applied and adhered to, whilst also ensuring all procedures are followed for TAPA / ISO Standards & accreditations Drive and Lead the Development of Cargo Screening site & training records maintenance. Location of the role is Heathrow Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a working relationship with the operations teams and their associates ensuring that agreed Quality and Performance standards are always achieved. (As part of ISO standards & meeting customer KPI targets) Fully understand customer requirements and adopt an approach which will ensure that customer’s needs are met and exceeded. Through regular contact and communication with the customer, managing close internal and external customer relationships. Key stakeholder while onboarding new customers. Primary input to warehousing /transport requirements. Shared experience & benefit from existing profile to ensure early adoption. Onboard new customers in conjunction with respective managers, roll out effective training & deliver focal points Toolboxes to all staff within the warehouse. Setting and adherence to agreed budget levels. Work closely with Gateway team to ensure maximum utilisation of ATF fleet. Assist Gateway & be focal point of communication & feedback to other sites in UKI Air Product. Transport, identify trends within existing client base to work with Import / Export managers to consolidate collections / deliveries to maximise profitability & efficiency. Lead HSSE engagement proactively for site with wider UKI HSSE Department. Holding regular site reviews, meetings & Gemba’s to seek continuous improvement. Ensure all HSSE KPI’s are met. Responsible for the management, motivation and development of the onsite warehouse teams, ensuring and maintaining open communication on a day-to-day basis. Development of the Maersk culture and values within the site ensuring areas such as equal opportunities, Health and Safety etc. are given priority. Objective setting of realistic and demanding KPI's, actively seeking ways of improving efficiency, performance and reducing costs throughout the whole site. Key stake holder with internal audit teams to ensure best practice is followed & improvement opportunities are shared across UK Air Product. Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in all site operations. Ensure all legislative and general training requirements are completed effectively and in good time. Ensure compliance with all Company operating and administrative procedures. Manage the maintenance of equipment to highest standard, manage contract with service providers to achieve minimal down time for operation. Ensure that all inbound, outbound and internal stock movement processes are recorded and reported accurately, compliantly and on a timely basis within the Relevant Warehouse Management System and related Duty Management System, to be compliant with HMRC Notices in relation to excise bonded warehousing, particularly Notice 197. Development and implementation of a site Succession Plan and ensure ongoing people development planning via the appraisal process and regular 121’s. Requirements: · Strong ability to manage high workload with high variation of tasks. · Strong team management skills · CAA – Managing a screening site & associated training programmes. · Forklift truck license – Counterbalance preferable (3.5t & 12T) · 5-year check – Essential · IOSH Training already in place preferable · Previous management experience within a 24hr warehouse operation of multiple shifts. Technical skills: · Microsoft Office (advanced level) · Employment Law knowledge · Experience in Bonded Warehouse Systems · Budget setting and finance control · Understanding of WMS and DMS systems · Operational warehouse management skills · Understanding of HSSE in operational warehouse and related to air freight · Aviation Security adherence. Soft skills: · Communication and relationship building at all levels (Customer, HMRC, Management, Operations). · Ability to lead, direct and motivate across all departments. · Development of Management roles within the site succession plan.
