Design Manager – Commercial Fit Out Office: Kent | Project: Central London We’re working with an established main contractor delivering a high-quality commercial fit out scheme in Central London, and they’re now looking to appoint a Design Manager to join the team. This is a great opportunity for a Design Manager who enjoys being close to both the project and the wider business, with a balanced split between office-based collaboration and site presence. The Role As Design Manager, you’ll take ownership of the design process from pre-construction through delivery, ensuring coordination, buildability, and compliance across the project. Key responsibilities include: Managing and coordinating the design process for a commercial fit out project Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams Reviewing design information to ensure compliance with technical, contractual, and programme requirements Driving design solutions that support cost, quality, and buildability Supporting site teams during construction and resolving design-related issues Working Pattern 3 days per week in the Kent office 2 days per week on site in Central London Candidates must be comfortable with this arrangement, as collaboration with both the project and head office teams is key to success in the role.
