Position: Caretaker Location: Oldham Type: 07.30am - 09.30am and 2.30pm - 4.30pm Job Purpose: As a Caretaker, you will ensure that our school remains a clean, secure, and inviting space for everyone. Your role is crucial in maintaining our facilities and creating a positive experience for all school users. Key Responsibilities: Welcoming Environment: Open and close the school daily, offering high-quality customer service and ensuring the safety of all users. Security Oversight: Take charge of the premises' security, including operating fire and burglar alarms, and fulfilling fire warden and key-holder duties. CCTV Monitoring: Keep an eye on our CCTV cameras and act promptly if any issues arise. Building Maintenance: Conduct daily checks of the school's facilities, documenting findings to maintain high standards. Cleanliness & Upkeep: Ensure the premises are well-lit, heated, and cleaned, including the maintenance of vending machines and other essential equipment. Handyperson Duties: Carry out minor repairs, general maintenance, and DIY tasks to keep our school in top shape. Consumable Management: Regularly replace consumables like paper towels and toilet rolls. Delivery Handling: Receive and verify deliveries of goods efficiently. Room Preparation: Prepare classrooms for classes and support special events or celebrations. Outdoor Maintenance: Keep the exterior tidy and ensure drains are free from debris. Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and maintain necessary records, in line with Service/Council policies. What We're Looking For: Strong customer service skills and a friendly disposition. Experience in caretaking or building maintenance is preferred. Ability to monitor security systems, including CCTV. Basic DIY skills and a willingness to undertake handyperson tasks. Understanding of health and safety compliance standards. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Why Join Us?
