Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children and young people?
Are you looking to build experience in a specialist setting, working with pupils who face barriers to learning related to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are recruiting for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school that provides tailored support to children and young people with behavioural challenges, mental health needs, and associated learning difficulties. This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday, term-time only), offering a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference while gaining valuable experience for careers in education, psychology, social care, or youth work.
The Role:
* Support individual students and small groups with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and academic engagement.
* Work under the guidance of teaching staff and the pastoral team to implement bespoke support strategies.
* Build positive relationships with pupils to foster trust and resilience.
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
* Help deliver tailored activities that promote self-esteem, communication, and personal development.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A recent graduate (e.g. Psychology, Criminology, Education, Youth Work, or related field).
* Confident, calm, and resilient when faced with challenging behaviour.
* A natural rapport builder with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable young people.
* Eager to learn and adaptable to the needs of a dynamic school setting.
* Previous experience supporting children or young people (in school, youth work, mentoring or care settings) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
