Join us to deepen your understanding of Statutory Compliance and its essential role in maintaining buildings and equipment!
As part of the Business Services Department within Property Services, you’ll work alongside Building Surveyors and technical officers to carry out essential inspections and support site managers in maintaining statutory compliance. From fire safety checks to water temperature testing, your work will directly contribute to the safety and efficiency of our buildings.
We’ll provide full training to ensure you’re equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in this important role.
We are seeking candidates with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting our sites in maintaining safe, well-managed environments. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with people, be confident building strong relationships with site staff, and be comfortable following structured routines to help ensure buildings meet important safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Attend sites on an agreed schedule to support on-site Controllers of Premises. Carry out routine testing and safety inspections as outlined in site-specific risk assessments, including Legionella, Fire Risk Assessments (FRA), and general Health & Safety checks.
* Produce clear and accurate reports following site visits. Identify and escalate any deviations or non-compliance to the appropriate manager, and provide actionable recommendations based on inspection findings.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site visits and inspections, with strong attention to detail to ensure documentation is suitable for audit and supports ongoing compliance monitoring.
* Carry out checks to ensure the Council’s landlord duties are being met, particularly where compliance responsibilities are delegated to individual sites.
* Provide instruction and advice to staff on ESCC compliance procedures. Support the training of site Controllers of Premises to ensure they understand their responsibilities, especially regarding risk assessments and inspection processes.
